THIS IS A MODERN WESTERN CRIME STORY FOR ADULT READERS, WHO ENJOY EXPLICIT SEXUALITY IN THEIR STORIES. DO NOT READ IT IF SEXUALITY OFFENDS YOU. Rona is a beautiful Chicago-based private detective. To protect his small share in a large distant ranch, a Chicago lawyer hires her to investigate cattle rustling that is driving the new young owner to bankruptcy. These modern rustlers truck out just a few cows at a time by night, but the losses are adding up. The local sheriff seems unable to catch these crooks. Rona goes into the ranching district under cover as a sales lady. She knows nothing about ranching , but she is intelligent, observant and a quick learner. She soon learns that there is much more to the case than simple cattle rustling, including murder, land-grabbing, bigamy and blackmail. Rona wants to help the struggling rancher, but he resents what he considers her interference in matters that she knows nothing about, so she works alone. Can she crack the case and uncover a long-buried secret?
