The Green Chemistry Network Centre (GCNC) has been established in Delhi University under the recommendation of a panel of world leaders headed by Professor Paul Anastas (the father of “Green Chemistry”). The centre has the following aims:
- To build a network for the exchange of expertise, discussion and knowledge between industrialists and academics and chemists and engineers with interests and expertise relevant to “Green Chemistry”.
- Prepare and disseminate educational materials on “Green Chemistry” for schools, colleges and universities.
- Design training.
- Translate existing “Green Chemistry” materials for broader distribution.
The GCNC received the prestigious ChemRAWN XIV-GCI Developing and Emerging Nations Grant Award for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007 from the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute.
