Senior year is over, and Lucy has the perfect way to celebrate: tonight, she's going to find Shadow, the mysterious graffiti artist whose work appears all over the city. It's a well known fact, that I fell in love with Crowley's storytelling via Words in Deep Blue. After that magnificent experience, I wanted to read her backlist, and I confess, I was not disappointed.

This story had beautiful writing, great characters, tons of humor, and lots of heart. This story was sort of a romance, I guess, but I was captivated by the friendships and the family relationships which were also present. In addition, many of the characters were at a crossroads, where they had to made BIG, life changing decisions.

I have to thank Cath Crowley for the amazing night she allowed me to spend with Ed, Lucy, and the rest of their crew. I was fun, enlightening, and very memorable.

Initial thoughts: A lyrical book centred on graffiti. Who would've thought? As an audiobook, I loved listening to the alternating voices of mainly Ed and Lucy. Since the narrators were chosen to fit their genders, it really helped me get into their characters more than plain reading did. Although, when it came to the interspersed poems, I preferred reading them on the printed pages. In any case, the plot was simple to follow yet gave rise to a lot of dramatic tension, which pulled me right into Graffiti Moon.

I've always admired street art, but Graffiti Moon has given me a new appreciation of these creative and talented artists. I loved the adventure through the streets of Melbourne and each time I see a wall mural through Fitzroy, I'll remember the night that belonged to Shadow and Poet.
