Jim is overjoyed when, one morning, he wakes to find that the cold, damp, grey weather has been replaced by the brightness of snow. His day begins with a bump, turns into a car pile-up, then a mass snowball fight and, finally, a fire that Jim helps to put out. In the process he makes friends with a lonely old man who lives nearby.
