And on their way back Moomintroll meets the beautiful Snork Maiden and is a changed Moomin for ever after. But what about the comet - and is the World Wiped Out?...

I've finally gotten around to reading a moomin book! I've seen this delightful marshmallow hippo everywhere, but have never actually read a book/comic/etc. till now. I'm very glad I did. It was pretty charming, and (or but?) I hope it just gets better from here.

Moomintroll lives a very happy life with his parents and his adopted brother (/friend?) Sniff in Moominvalley. But when he discovers a comet will fall on his precious valley, he and Sniff go off on an adventure find out more--and come back with a lot more friends, too.

The adventures are cute and charming. But I’m surprised at how rude they could be to each other, haha! “‘Shut up, and do something useful for once!’” It’s obvious each character has their own spark and personality, and are all surprisingly well-rounded for a middle grade novel.

Overall it’s a very cute middle grade novel, and I can’t wait to read more. I’ve got the next one right here, so that’s great, but I’ll have to wait a while to get the next ones. I can tell this series is going to be addicting in the most fun way.
