This book was incredibly sad. While it does have it's 'happy' ending (although I would label it more 'hopeful' than 'happy') there were a lot of times that I was trying (and failing) to hold back tears while reading this. The way that Nicola dived into James' mind when he was at his lowest was perfect. Having been in that same state of mind as well, I can tell you that it was very realistic. While I don't know much about bipolar disorder, I do know about depression, and this was a book which showed it as it is. I'm very impressed with this book, with how the author handled such a sensitive topic and how to romance developed between James and Theodore. I will be reading this one again, I'm sure.
