Several bodies have been unearthed in different locations by Merseyside Police. But there is no single informant, no confession from a serial killer, in fact in each case it is a close relative of the missing person who provides the location. Inspector Jack Smith is put in charge, quickly discovering that it is a mysterious psychic who, whilst giving Tarot Card readings informs them of the fate of their loved ones. Is this 'Psychic' the killer? Jack, like other cops, has hunches, but his have a high success rate, though he's never been able to explain why. His findings lead him to the chilling realisation that the killer is still plying their trade, and has been for twenty five years. Jack has to find the psychic, before another person goes missing; his 'hunch' tells him; he may just be that missing person.
