This work features essays by Pawe Polit, Adam Szymczyk, Sabine Breitwieser, Wies aw Borowski, Hanna Ptaszkowska, and Mariusz Tchorek. It contains interviews with Edward Krasi ski and Anka Ptaszkowska. Edward Krasi ski (1925 uck-2004 Warsaw) is one of the most important figures in the progressive Polish art scene of the 1960s and 70s. His work drew on the avant-garde heritage of Constructivism and Surrealism in Poland, and is fully documented here for the first time. The focus is on Krasi ski's unique exhibition designs, in which the work was integrated into the space, providing new perspectives on a body of work which oscillated between painting, sculpture and installation. This publication accompanies the exhibition Edward Krasi ski: Les Mises en Scene at Generali Foundation, Vienna, 2006.
