I love the concept for this new series! Three life long friends, who have been separated reconvene in their home town for their ten year reunion. Each has something from their past that they are trying to outrun, but they cannot help looking back. This book focuses on Melanie, who was voted most likely to succeed in high school. She left town a decade ago for college, and never looked back...until now. Her life had not turned out the way she expected, and she is looking for a fresh start. What she finds is the support of life long friends, and a spark with one of the town's newer residents.
I had so much fun getting to know all the major players. I thought Bybee did a great job filling us in on each character's past, while allowing me to speculate what their book will be about. I also liked the multigenerational characters. We had young, older, and even older. I loved learning about hem all and seeing them interact. We had a little mystery/suspense there, and I appreciate the way Bybee took the story. It could have gone another way, and I am so happy it didn't. And, now I have another fictional town I want to move to. This place sounds wonderful, and why wouldn't I want to live in a community with neighbors like the ones in this book?
A great start to a new series, that I am looking forward to reading.
