This poetic small volume comprises 24 photographs taken by Ursula Schulz-Dornburg on her travels over the past 10 years. They show bus stops in Armenia and stations of the Hejaz Train line in Saudi Arabia, scattered in the middle of the desert. The train line once connected Damascus and Medina in the beginning of the 20th century. Author, Kristin Feireiss describes the artist's images as having the ability to 'awaken yearnings that one cannot put into words. Part of this, perhaps, results from a theme she has treated again and again: man's primal need for housing. But her works also show what risks people are exposed to in their habitats - in many cases to such a degree that through political or economic pressure, entire cultures lose their own identity.'
