This is the Third edition of the standard text/reference for analysis and design of petrochemical and chemical process equipment; the new edition includes revisions to reflect current practice, and current API Standards and ASME Codes. The main function of this book is to provide mechanical and chemical engineers associated with the petrochemical and chemical industries with a reference for the analysis and design of, storage tanks pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchanges, and related process equipment and components such as piping, gaskets, nozzles etc. This book also can be used to give graduate students a concise introduction to the theory, design, and use of storage tanks pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchanges, and their related equipment.

This book covers the theory of plates and shells and its industrial applications, and provides background for some of the design equations in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII. The third edition offers a new chapter on design of power boilers, and existing chapters have been expanded to cover new topics such as toughness criteria, design of expansion joints, and tube-to-tubesheet parameters. Also provides revised coverage of design of water tanks, heat tube exchangers, and noncircular vessels. Appendixes contain extensive data for quick reference.
