Each spread in this book illustrates one animal in detail. An eight-year-old child is included in the illustration to give the animals a sense of scale. A scale box gives an idea of their size in comparison to each other. The great diversity of the animal kingdom is the starting point of the book. The book illustrates how fast a cheetah can run, how quickly a falcon can dive and what part of a chameleon is still one moment and sprints out to kill its prey a second later. It questions whether a sloth moves at all and why some animals have to be slow to survive or fast to go in for the kill.
