Erika Shields is a creative first and teacher second. She is homegrown in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area and that is where her characters reside. The inspiration for every book comes from her family, friends, students, and community. She is so happy to have worked with Gabriela and Jude on her first book!
