It's not unusual for someone trained as an architect to have extraordinary vision. It's what they do. And Carole Sumner Krechman has brought this vision to all areas of her business, philanthropic and personal life alike. She's also a thought leader. In technology, international business and peacemaking.A serial international entrepreneur, architect by education and training, Carole built a successful design company that spanned the globe. In the 1980s operating out of Beijing, thanks to her benefactor, Dr. Armand Hammer, late chairman of Oxy Petroleum, Sheldon and Carole Sumner Krechman spent eight more years doing business in China and completing the project. The team found investors and lenders, built their vision into the Beijing Asia Hotel, created the design team with Chinese, Japanese, Hong Kong, and Thailand natives joining her as the first American woman to design and develop a modern, Western hotel, apartments and office building in downtown Beijing. Krechman is likely the only 80-year-old woman to be awarded a technology patent from the US government. This patent creates a foundational change in how we communicate, delivering video to any cell phone on demand. Additionally, Carole is concurrently the Chairman, Founder and President of the Peacemaker Corps Association, a non-profit dedicated to teaching children around the world how to make "Peace in the Streets." PCA is a United Nations NGO with ESCSOC status. www.peacemakerscorps.org (www. PSGFF.com). As a life-long activist/volunteer and former Chairman of the Board of Friends of the United Nations, with 30 years of volunteer service to the UN, she was honored for her years of philanthropy and innovation by receiving the 2008 Purpose Prize Fellowship.
