Familia Kitchen co-founder, CEO and editor in chief Kim Caviness grew up in Santurce, Puerto Rico in a small hotel owned and operated by her Puerto Rican mom and American dad. She loves to cook for family and friends, learning from her parents how to entertain guests with style and sabor. For this cookbook, Kim talked to hundreds of Latino homecooks about their favorite Latin American recipes and food stories, tapping into her 20+ years of journalism and content experience, including at Boston Herald, Condé Nast Traveler and as chief content officer of several agencies. Kim lives in Chicago with her husband, Lyn, and son, Roberto "Bob," who love when she makes Puerto Rico family dishes she learned from her mom, Marisa, and from "El Libro" Cocina Criolla, the Puerto Rico cooking bible.
