Hello!Thank you so much for stopping by, My name is Brianda Younggren, and I'm originally from San Diego CA, and now residing in Dallas TX. I have recently published two books that I am really excited to share with you. My very first book was Eli the Elephant Tries Everything. One of the reasons why I wrote this book is because I am extremely passionate about all things related to food & nutrition. My love for food started in my early twenties when I attended the San Diego Culinary Institute. Since then, I have applied some of those same principles to my day-to-day dietary lifestyle. Creating nourishing foods that are also visually appealing is a great way to make healthier choices. I furthered my academic career with a B.S. in Foods & Nutrition and I am also a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I lead with the philosophy of "if you take care of your body, your body will take care of you" This is why I created this book! I believe having a strong dietary foundation should start in infancy. Establishing optimal choices earlier on in life creates a more sustainable lifestyle later on. This is why Eli the Elephant Tries Everything focuses on trying new foods rather than on "picky eating." I find that the root of the problem is often in the unknown and the unfamiliar rather than the 'unlikeness' of new foods. Eli the Elephant is perfect for children needing a little boost to venture out of their comfort zones or if they simply need a little reinforcement. My newest book is Sheldon the Shark is Afraid of the Dark. As a new mom I have fallen in love with my little one and the journey to motherhood has truly inspired this story. This adorable picture book is about a sweet little shark that is afraid of the dark. Sheldon teaches us that although he is a mighty big shark, he too can have fears. Throughout this story, sweet little Sheldon learns to communicate his feelings and his fears with the help and support of his mama. Together they help Sheldon overcome his fears. This beautiful story will touch your heart in more ways than one. Please consider following along @bringthefoodbrie or @elitheelphanttrieseverythingBrianda Younggren, MPH
