Gertrude Young was born and raised outside the city of Reading, the area of Pennsylvania Dutch county. Gertrude considers her faith, living by the Ten Commandments, and her family to be most important to her. Gert's passion for reading and writing from her 70 scrapbooks compilation, she became known as a historian for the family. While her 5 great-grandchildren were growing up, one of them was diagnosed with autism. This began her interest in writing about autism. She wrote stories about how and why different improvements were supported for growth in her great-grandson. Then in 2019, the recent stories of her great-grandson became publicized in the Reading Eagle Newspaper Company four times in one year. While retiring in an assisted living home, her love of reading and writing, inspired her to write a book taken from her diary. One subject of which was a miracle she experienced with overcoming faith. IT'S A Miracle Bob Was Dead Until... is Gertrude's first book.
