As one of four siblings put up for adoption at birth, Adrienne Ucciferri has at times struggled with self-acceptance, wondering why she was not wanted by her birth parents. This issue, which is very common among adoptees, was put to rest after meeting her birth family but remained a subject of which she was very much aware. It continues to inspire her curiosity about the nature of "self," the concept of nature versus nurture, and the value of finding our true place-and our true purpose-in the world.

With this story, she hopes to assure her readers that there will always be people who will love us for exactly who we are, and that we should never try to change our fundamental selves just to please others.

Adrienne currently lives in a smallish town on the Sunshine Coast, just a ferry ride away from Vancouver, Canada, with her little dog, Mr. Wilson (aka Wylly), and her new kitten, Flokie, along with her eldest daughter, Allithia, and her dog, Maizy, and cat, Rubius.
