Sparrow Santo is a Brooklyn-born, New York City-based American poet, vocalist, and former dancer. She devotes her time to writing, photographing the local nature and graffiti of New York City, and studying the sounds of rock, punk, soul, and hip-hop music history. A lifelong synesthete, Santo regularly experiences grapheme-color, spatial-sequence, and lexical-gustatory types of synesthesia and attests to each of their influence upon her art. She is an avid traveler and particularly enchanted by the natural landscapes of both the Scottish Highlands and the American Southwest.
