Madeline Ryan and Katherine Anderson have drawn upon their extensive knowledge of institutional history to craft an illustrated narrative of the Worcester State Hospital. The unique compilation of photographs held by the Worcester Historical Museum as well as images from private collections vividly illustrate the architecture, landscape, and day-to-day functioning of the institution from its origins in the 19th century to the present day.
