Stejarel Olaru is a Romanian historian, writer, researcher, and radio and TV broadcaster. He also holds a PhD in Military Sciences and Intelligence, and is a former lecturer at the National Intelligence Academy of Romania (2010-2019). He was National Security Advisor for the Romanian Prime Minister (2006-2008), a Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014) and General Director of the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania (2005-2010). He went through a number of internships and trainings in security at Harvard, NATO Headquarters, Brussels, and in Israel. He has published several books in Romanian on the modern history of Romania.
