Alain Munkittrick, an architect and Wesleyan graduate, served on Wesleyan's Landmarks Advisory Board. Deborah Shapiro, past executive director of the Middlesex County Historical Society, is municipal historian for the City of Middletown. The authors' selection of photographs--many never published before--are principally drawn from the collections of Wesleyan University Library, Special Collections & Archives, and the Middlesex County Historical Society.
