Chaz Lamar was raised in the deserts and cities of southern California by his Louisianan maternal grandparents. He is a graduate of Cal State LA and the University of San Francisco. Chaz's work as a poet, creative, writer is informed by his interest in sharing truth and stories, and exploring identity as an ever evolving, ever expanding Black, queer, lovechild, Sagittarius.
