Xinjiang Cui received Ph.D. degree in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Cui has interests in the utilization of sustainable resources. During his Ph.D. degree, he did a lot of fundamental research on the green synthesis of N-alkyl amines using heterogeneous catalysts. And some novel methodologies are developed using sustainable bio-based alcohols and CO2. These results are also attractive in industry and industrial processes are developing with the cooperation with companies from French, Belgium and China. Since 2014, he starts postdoc research with Prof. Matthias Beller in Leibniz Institute for Catalysis. His research interests are focused on nano-catalysis and catalysis for sustainable valorization of bio-derived carboxylic acids and lignin. He is cooperating with Roche on these projects. More than 30 papers have been published on Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Sci., Chem. Rev., etc. To honor his work, Dr. Cui became the Member of Youth Innovation Promotion Association Program of CAS (2014), and got the President Scholarship of the CAS (2011) and Zhu Li Scholarship for Excellent Doctoral Candidate of CAS (2011).
