Hope J. has been an educator at all levels of instruction, teaching children, troubled teens and adults. An intrepid solo traveller, she lived and worked in Asia, and backpacked through Europe and Down Under. Before joining AA, the author had changed her name to Hope because she didn't have any. Hope gives all credit for her improved and happy life to Alcoholics Anonymous and the Twelve Steps that comprise the foundation of the Program. Along with alcohol, the author has used the Twelve Steps to help her beat problems with overspending, overeating, and workaholism. She has been sober for thirty years and offers her book as a way to give back to the Program that saved her life.
