Kathleen McGee was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she and her six siblings were raised by loving parents. During her long career, she worked for a large health insurance company and a pediatrics practice. When Kathleen had children of her own, she became interested in writing children's books. Her loving husband, three children and grandchildren encouraged her to write her first book.
