Larry Beck is a professor of recreation and tourism management at San Diego State University. He has a B.S. in natural resource planning and interpretation from Humboldt State University, an M.A. in Education from Azusa Pacific University, and Ph.D. in education from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Beck is the author/coauthor of four books and more than 100 articles on natural resource management, cultural and environmental interpretation, and higher education. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and scholarship, including the Meritorious Service Award from the National Association for Interpretation. He is a faculty fellow of People, Information, and Communication Technologies and a University Scholar of Universal Design for Learning.
