Prof. V. G. Chavan, Assistant Professor of Agronomy and Technical officer GKMS, DST in Department of Agronomy, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth., Dapoli Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra has teaching, research and extension experience of17 years. He has taught various courses to Undergraduate and Post-graduate Degree Programme particularly Agro meteorology. He worked on crop modeling and developed weather based prediction model for Mango Flush and Flowering Initiation. He acts as co-scientist for about twelve recommendations to farming communities in Konkan region of Maharashtra. He has published 4 books, 30 research articles, 23 popular articles. He has guided three Post-graduate students successfully and act as a member of advisory committee of 12 students. He is a member of different scientific and professional societies at national level.
