Daniel van Eeden started his career as a UNIX system administrator and then progressed to become a database administrator. After working as a consultant, he joined he a travel company where he helped to scale MySQL to several machines. His job also included giving training to developers and talking at conferences. He has contributed multiple patches to MySQL and related projects.
