Cliff Martin was born in West London, close to where he lives now. He recently retired following a thirty-seven-year career in journalism, largely spent as a sub-editor on national newspapers, most recently at The Times. Cliff is married with three children, and his interests include history, Brentford FC, rambling in the West Country, pottery, cooking and bread-making.
