Kim Megahee is a writer, musician, and retired IT consultant. He has a degree from the University of Georgia in Mathematics Education. His background includes playing in rock bands, teaching high school, and much experience in computer programming, security and consulting. He co-founded DevOps IT consultancy in 2012 and traveled on business throughout the US, and to Europe, Central America, South America and New Zealand. Kim was surprised that he could actually write a book. In his words... I wasn't planning to be a writer. I was a computer geek ever since I took my first computer class. But I got this idea for a story and I tried to talk my Mom into writing it since she had been writing since she was a little kid. She refused, saying that I could do it and I didn't need her help. So it sat in the back of my mind for a couple of years until I finally decided to give it a try. After several false starts, he managed to get a manuscript together. It was a disaster, he writes. Then he started studying the craft. He joined a couple of writing clubs and critique groups and he read everything about writing he could get his hands on. After many edits, the book was finally where he wanted it to be. Since then, he decided to turn the story into Book 1 of the Marc McKnight Time Travel Adventures. Book 4 of the series is currently under edit. The story is set in the NewT Communications tower in midtown Atlanta. People familiar with the area will recognize the building as the former BellSouth Center tower on West Peachtree Street. Kim worked for the company for many years and has recreated the building in the story with a few exceptions. According to Kim, The building is mostly like what I described, except there aren't any executive bathrooms in the executive offices, or at least not in the ones I've been in. But the security team was top notch when I was there and it still is. He's also a man with cross-gender first and middle names (Kimberly Marion), which has been a great conversation starter over the years. Kim started his writing career later in life, after a former student encouraged him to write down some of the stories he was fond of telling. In addition to writing, he enjoys reading, playing live music, and socializing with friends. Kim lives in Gainesville, Georgia with his soulmate wife Martha and Leo, the stubborn red-headed toy poodle.
