Jack Tester was the first employee of Nexstar, hired by Frank Blau Jr. and the founding board of directors to bring the vision of the organization to life. During his initial six-year tenure, Nexstar grew from a fledgling one-man shop to a respected national organization with 270 members. Jack departed Nexstar to manage a large national plumbing, HVAC, and electrical service company but rejoined in 2006 as a business coach and coaching manager. He has served as CEO of Nexstar since 2011. Jack's 360-degree perspective derives not only from having run a one-truck company and a more than $500 million service company, but also from allowing hundreds of member companies to stand on his shoulders so they could see farther and reach higher. His unique point of view is shared throughout the pages of this book. Currently, Jack and his wife of more than 30 years, Barbara, reside in Newport, Minnesota. They have two adult children, Lauren and Brent, and he is very proud of them. Jack is an avid outdoorsman who spends his free time flushing grouse behind his two springer spaniels or wading in a trout stream. He also curses at the TV on fall Sundays, thanks to a lifelong addiction to the Minnesota Vikings.
