We are Canadian seniors now in our late seventies. We live in a new home on the shores of Shuswap Lake at Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada. When we started traveling in 2002, we had backpacks. A few years later our backpacks had wheels. Now we travel with suitcases on wheels. Although we keep telling ourselves to travel light, we still pack many unnecessary items now that we have large suitcases. On our last flight home, Kathy asked to change seats with me. I soon realized why she did this, for I was now seated beside a man who "stank to High Heaven!" He had been traveling for six months with the bare minimum in a tiny backpack. Obviously he did not pack deodorant! Now that is traveling too light! We hope to make two four month trips to Africa before the cost of travel insurance becomes prohibitive. We still have the wanderlust.
