Robert Pieretti is Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at California State University, Sacramento, where his interests include language disorders, language-based reading disorders, response to intervention (RTI) models, and English Language Learners. For ten years, he has been a Language, Speech, and Hearing Specialist with the Sacramento Unified School District, including serving as its Head Specialist. In addition to co-authoring this text and Sourcebook of Phonological Awareness Activities: Children's Core Literature Grades 3-5 with Candace Goldsworthy, Ph.D., he frequently speaks on child language and literacy. Dr. Pieretti served in various positions on the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Board of Directors, and received its Outstanding Service Award in 2009. He earned his B.A. at University of California, Davis; his M.S.in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Sacramento; and his doctorate from University of California, Davis.
