As a full-time infographic designer and illustrator at Media24, Cobus Prinsloo has special interests in history, the natural sciences, comics, computer generated imagery (CGI) and education media. He got his degree in Information Design in 1993, and later served between 2001 and 2005 as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Pretoria. He got a full-time appointed from 2006 to 2013, when he temporarily moved to Australia. Cobus also gave software training on a part-time basis to other institutions such as the SA Publication Forum, AngloGold Ashanti and Inscape Design College. Cobus has been reading and writing comics since he can remember. The culmination of his various interests and skills gave birth to his educational graphic novel Time Gliders. It was involved in his first career highlight (albeit still primitive in comparison to its current form) - it was published in three of South Africa's leading family magazines -Huisgenoot, You and Drum. These are publications of Media24, South Africa's largest media group. Other career highlights include being a finalist for infographic design for the Legends Awards of Media24 in 2014 and 2015, as well as for the national 2015 SB Sikuvile Awards. With a fascination for CGI since the eighties and with this new medium becoming more available to the consumer market in the mid-90's, Cobus started to use 3D graphics for his comic artwork. His latest art style combines original 3D graphics with digital painting techniques. Cobus lives in Centurion, South Africa, with his wife and two children. His vision is to publish more titles and make the writing and illustration of graphic novels a full-time career.
