Janice Garden Macdonald is the author and illustrator of 10 children's books and one adult title, including the bestsellers "The Red Sweater" and "Ten Little Happies". She worked in the publishing industry for many years as a representative, library consultant and bookstore manager. She is the recipient of a dozen writing awards in different genres including the Zoetrope short fiction award judged by Joyce Carol Oats and the Moondance Film Festival award for an animated screenplay.During her time as a bookstore owner, specializing in children's books, she discovered her love of writing and illustration.She currently lives in Ontario with her husband and dog, Rufus, where they oversee a wetland conservation area.
