Dr. Chandan Singh Purohit is working as Botanical Assistant in Botanical survey of India (BSI), Sikkim Himalayan Regional Centre, Gangtok, Sikkim and involved in study of Flora of Singhba Rhododendron sanctuary and Cyperaceae and Poaceae of North Sikkim. He has been Involved in studying taxonomy and population study of Poaceae and flowering plants. He is actively working in RET & Endemic plants since last 10 years. He has done extensive field work in Indian desert and most part of Rajasthan for exploration, population study and the conservation status of Poaceae and has made some curious observation related to taxonomy, nomenclature, distribution, phytogeogarphy of grasses and the result were published in various journals. He has so far published 32 research papers, 3 extension folder, 01 book chapter, 10 research articles and 9 technical reports. He has attended 18 conference, seminar and training programmes at various institutes.
