"Arunachalam Dharmalingam is a senior lecturer of demography and population studies at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and is the author of research on social and historical demography and population projection. Janet Sceats works for Portal Consulting and Associates Ltd. in Hamilton, New Zealand, and is the author of articles on aspects of fertility and family, and the impact of these on the role of women.
