Jayme Stayer holds degrees in music and English from the University of Notre Dame, and an MA and PhD in English literature from the University of Toledo. He has held faculty posts at Texas A&M University – Commerce, Universidad Centroamericana in El Salvador, and John Carroll University. With more than fifteen years of teaching experience, he has published in pedagogical as well as scholarly journals, including a number of articles and chapters on T. S. Eliot. He is currently working on a book project, Becoming T. S. Eliot: The Rhetoric of Voice and Audience in the Early Poetry. Stayer joined the Society of Jesus (known by its unofficial name, the Jesuits) in 2003, and is in process to complete his theology studies, followed by ordination.
