Dr Simon Strachan (MBChB FCPaed) graduated from The University of Cape Town in 1987 and spent the next three years working at the Ernest Oppenheimer Hospital in Welkom. He started Paediatrics at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1991, graduating as a Fellow of the College of Paediatricians of South Africa in 1995. Simon has been in private paediatric practice since 1996 and has interests in vaccinology, pulmonology, allergies, epilepsy and the ketogenic diet and ADHD. He has developed a passion for teaching and delivers lectures to parents, general practitioners and paediatricians. He is a regular contributor to magazines and attends many local and international medical congresses. Simon lives in Johannesburg with his many children and is a very proud grandfather.
