Trained as a nursery and primary teacher, Maureen Garner taught four to seven year olds before becoming a community teacher with responsibility for developing partnership working with parents and developing multi agency working. Maureen worked for many years as a specialist teacher with babies and very young children with complex special needs and their parents. She developed many new resources bespoke to the needs of individual children and families. Maureen has a particular interest in imaginative play and creative development and specializes in easy to make play props from everyday objects.
Maureen keeps her hand in by volunteering in the Foundation Stage Unit at her grandchildren's school where she helps with ideas and resources for imaginative play.
