Shari Faden Donahue is a member of the Children's Book Council and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the founder of the Zebra-Striped Whale Foundation, a non-profit organisation that seeks to enrich communities through the art of children's book publishing. She lives in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
