I was reading and writing at the age of five. If something interests me I would write it down, place in a can to keep it in a secret place. I grew up in the South at a time when individuality was determined by the color of your skin. My escape from the cruelty I witness started me to write more. Moving to California was an eye opener! Everyone was treated the same. I no longer hide my writing and now own over 50 journals Devil in the Bedroom took six years to complete due to emotional stress endured.
