Rochelle Hurt is the author of IN WHICH I PLAY THE RUNAWAY (Barrow Street Press, 2016) and THE RUSTED CITY, a collection of prose poetry and verse published in the Marie Alexander Series from White Pine Press (2014). Her work has been included in Best New Poets 2013 and she's been awarded literary prizes from Crab Orchard Review, Arts & Letters, Hunger Mountain, and Poetry International. Her poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction have also appeared in journals like Crazyhorse, Black Warrior Review, and The Southeast Review. She holds an MFA from UNC Wilmington and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cincinnati, where she has taught undergraduate English courses and served as Assistant Editor for Cincinnati Review.
