Elliot Cartledge has written extensively about sport, music and travel in Australia and overseas. Born in Gippsland, Victoria, he studied film and literature at Monash University before relocating to the United Kingdom and Latin America. He has played and coached sport on four different continents.
Cartledge is the author of five sports books, including three AFL books: The Hafey Years: Reliving a golden era at Tigerland, Footy's Glory Days: The greatest era of the greatest game and Footy's Revolution: The inside story of the AFL. His book Chasing Shadows: The life & death of Peter Roebuck, co-authored with Tim Lane, was shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year and the Cricket Society & MCC Book of the Year. It won the Cross Cricket Book of the Year and the Australian Cricket Society Literary Award.
He lives in Melbourne, Victoria.
