Raised in Bowie, Maryland, Mark Reefe moved his homestead to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley some years back, where he lives with his lovely wife, two boys, one dog, and the sweetest mother-in-law. After many years in federal law enforcement catching drug smugglers, money launderers, and fugitives, he decided to scratch the itch tickling him and start writing. Mark's earlier published works blended his experiences along the southern border with supernatural elements in haunting tales that have received numerous accolades. Most recently, his fondness for the urban legends of his old stomping grounds spurred him to write Spindle Lane and The Ghosts of Glenn Dale. These darkly nostalgic stories feature teenage friends exploring many of Bowie's spookiest places and encountering some of their more infamous residents. Writing credits: The Ghosts of Glenn Dale (Apprentice House Press, Loyola University Maryland, October 2023), Spindle Lane (Apprentice House Press, Loyola University Maryland, October 2020), The Road to Jericho (Burning Willow Press, November 2015 and The Three Furies Press August 2020), The Valley of Hinnom (Burning Willow Press, January 2018), and El Sendero (Burning Willow Press, November 2017).When Mark's not writing, he enjoys woodworking, camping, breaking small appliances when they don't appear to work, apologizing to his wife for breaking the previously mentioned appliances, and bourbon (not necessarily in that order).
