Jeffrey Hammerhead Philips began scuba diving in 1967, dove for 2 years, got certified by NASDS, then became a PADI instructor. In 1980, he married the prettiest mermaid in the ocean, Kitty. After many years in West Palm Beach, he now resides in the mountains of Tennessee, writing fictionalized events based on his travels.
