Dee & Aubrey Edwards are a mother-daughter duo whose hearts desire is to help children entering into less diverse schools realize they may appear different from their peers on the outside, but that they too, are beautiful. After Aubrey suffered an image complex based on the demographics of the majority of her classmates, her parents felt it was imperative to find positive books and methods to affirm her. Now, they have written a simple and easy to use educational book that focuses on empowerment, along with sight words, and rhyming words for early readers. The mother-daughter duo hopes to empower children at a young age to accept themselves and reduce the suicide and bullying rate found among those in elementary school. Dee and Aubrey chose to be intentional about the words they used to describe the variances between friends, because no matter their background, cultural differences, or appearance, they are still beautiful and perfect!
