Philip Seldon has had a lifetime love affair with astronomy starting with his youth when he aspired to become a professional astronomer. In 1957 he was a director of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Moonwatch Program where he organized amateur astronomers to build observing stations to track then yet to be launched artificial satellites. He studied astronomy professionally but eventually became a magazine publisher. He was the founding publisher and editor of Popular Astronomy magazine in the 1970's Today, he is an avid armchair astronomer who is conversant in everything astronomical.
