Geoff Benton is the Curator of Collections and Education at Clermont State Historic Site. He received a BA in History and Biology at State University of New York (SUNY)/Potsdam and an MA in American History at SUNY/Albany. His previous works include The Fight for Tom Cod: Newfoundland in the American Revolution, 300 Years of Faith and Community: The Kinderhook Reformed Church, many articles in the Columbia County History and Heritage magazine, and a short essay on Henry Beekman Livingston in the Journal of the American Revolution. He lives in upstate New York with his very patient wife and reader Ashley and their two children. When not working or writing he is often found playing with his children or catching a baseball game in person or on TV.
